Behind the scene visit to our design studio

Most people have never been behind the scene of a special event florist. Like the film industry, many people are involved. I would like to share some of the preparatory steps of making it all come together.

Timing is almost everything.

Years of experience tells you what day to purchase each type of flower so they are at the perfect stage. Flowers need to be at their peak of beauty for the party. I thought it might be fun to show a few photos of preparation for the event we did two weeks ago.

4am we’re off to the flower market

the rose shipment arrives from Ecuador                                time to get all 3,800 stems in water

hundreds of small vases ready to be filled with Sweet peas                  hand tying 1500 stems of orchids

picking up Peonies flown in fresh from Oregon          finishing the bridesmaid’s bouquets

loading up a truck for delivery to the reception                        dressing the linens on the tables

folding napkins with  dark purple ribbon bands              adding garlands to the candelabras

Cake Divas setting up the cake                   tying orchid garlands on the bride and groom’s chair

We’re finished and ready for the guests to enter.  The party is about to start.

More photos to Follow in the coming weeks.

Once Todd Johnson’s photos are ready, the photographer for the wedding, we will post a whole blog of this beautiful event.

Thank you, you really do always wonder and just never know. Events at Vibiana are also very beautiful so it’s nice to be able to see your work displayed.
