Melina and Sam at Saddlerock Ranch Malibu

We created a wedding a few weeks ago at Saddle Rock Ranch in the Malibu Mountains for a fantastic couple.

The bride carried a gorgeous bouquet of  gardenias, lavender, and ‘Bowl of Cream’ Peonies with a collar of magnolia foliage.

We specially fly in this unusual variety of Peony from Oregon. It’s large off-white flower head continues to unfold it’s petals getting larger and larger.

The bridesmaids held nosegays of lavender herb with a Dusty Miller and Galax leaf collar.

They were married in front of an old Weeping Willow under a rustic canopy swagged with cream tapestry fabric and garlands of olive branches, magnolia and Vendela roses.

Paper cones filled with rose petals were tied to the back of the chairs.

There were long wooden tables with linen runners and tall vases filled with asymmetrical Calla lilies bouquets. Clusters of mercury glass with candles and flowers filled the centers of the tables.

The round tables had tall vases filled with white Eremurus or Fox-tail Lily.

Each napkin was topped by a sprig of lavender and olive foliage tied with a craft paper cording.

Chandeliers and strands of lights were suspended from the oak trees that framed the dance floor creating  a magical evening of dancing.

Mercury glass lanterns led guests to a mini-doughnut stand before leaving for the evening.

I would like to thank Susan Bordelon for sharing these fantastic images of the wedding. Susan is a master in her field and gets unbelievable images in such a short amount of time.  She is a delight to work with.

I really love Susan’s signature silhouette shot of Melina and Sam.

Daniella and Caleb

Last December, we created flowers for a backyard tented wedding. We love the warmth of having a wedding at home.

The bride knew exactly what color flowers she wanted. The look was  Purples and burgundies, rich, vibrant and sexy.

We had an unexpected down pour before the ceremony.  While we were waiting for the storm to pass,  guests enjoyed a early cocktail hour inside the house until we could get the tent back in order.

The ceremony was just outside the tent in front of the pool. We hand- tied hundreds of fuchsia orchids from Singapore  to the curly willow arch.

The purple metallic ceramic containers held burgundy peonies, orchids, calla lilies, hanging Amaranthus and dark purple hydrangeas.

The napkins were tied with purple silk cording, a burgundy Cymbidium and a crystal pendant that were seen later on more than a few ladies on the dance floor.

Mendy Pound of Cakes by the Pound, made the beautiful cake decorated with custom made gum paste deep burgundy peonies.

Sherman Oaks Nursery School Flower Arranging Party

Last night we met a wonderful group of young mothers from the Sherman Oaks Nursery School.

Anne Zimmerman, one of my brides, contacted me and asked if we would like to do a flower arranging seminar for the school fund raiser.

We created beautiful flowers for her wedding 7 years ago at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

We showed the ladies how to do a few easy, quick, and stylish centerpieces for entertaining at home and baby showers.

Then we showed how to make a simple flower arrangement .

We also made fresh herb and succulent planters.

We saw lots of creativity and imagination.

It was a fun Mom’s night out with appetizers, wine, flowers, plants and dessert.

We would like to wish all our Mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day.

Love you Mom!
