Inspiration – Still Life Photography

This is the first entry of a monthly series based on inspiration.

Some of you may not know that I am studying photography with Tracey Landworth. She is an excellent special event photographer, as well as a highly qualified teacher.
I have always admired Flemish paintings. The deep rich color and the use of natural directional sunlight are so beautiful.  I recently revisited the film on the painter, Vermeer, Girl with a Pearl Earring.  Which inspired me to try to capture the lighting and moody feeling of the film.
Luckily, my good friend and jewelry designer extraordinaire, Erica Courtney, helped me explore the genre and brought along some of her stunning Tahitian Pearl jewelry.
