Conservation International Dinner

We recently created decor for Conservation International’s 16th Annual Los Angeles Dinner at Casa del Mar Hotel in Santa Monica.

The theme was based on the  Pacific Oceanside Agreement.

For the registration tables we used large glass bubble bowls filled with shells surrounded by fresh leis of Micronesian ginger and the multicolored cigar leis.

We draped the table cloths with turquoise, aqua and sea-green cloths with sparkly overlays to mimic a white sand beach.

Collections of pearlized Nautilus, Trochis, and sea snail shells were clustered around succulent filled ceramic shell planters. LED lights were placed inside the shells for a pearly glow. Clusters of gardenias and Capiz shell discs mimicked bubbles on the tables.
The glasses on the table were not part of the decor, but were there to be able to view the Sony 3-D films that they have produced with Conservation International.

The Pacific Oceanscape is a collaborative agreement between 15 Pacific Island nations, covering an area four times the size of continental Europe (38.5 million square kilometers), and providing a framework for the integrated management of the Pacific Ocean. The agreement covers ocean health and security; governance; sustainable resource management; increased research and knowledge investment; and facilitating the partnerships and cooperation needed to support the conservation of these vast and essential ecosystems.

Jessica and David at Westlake Village Inn

We recently created a third wedding for this family. We designed florals for David’s Mother’s wedding at the Wine Terrace of the old Hotel Bel Air, and florals for David’s sister, Lauren and her husband Charlie’s wedding  at the Smog Shoppe last June.

Jessica and David were so fortunate. The allée of Jasmine was in glorious full bloom and made a dream-like frame for their photos. The bride carried Vendela and Skyline roses, Peach Chiffon Calla Lilies, white peony flowering ivory tulips, Ivory Spray roses, Magnolia and variegated Hosta leaves.

The bridesmaids bouquets of hot pink sweet pea, tangerine spray roses, Ad Rem orange tulips, yellow calla lilies and City Of Haarlem yellow Hyacinths were showcased by the bridesmaids beautiful deep blue dresses.

It was exciting to walk through a tunnel of white Jasmine to be greeted by vibrant color. We created this colorful canopy in front of the iron gazebo with clusters of peonies, roses, parrot tulips, Forsythia and French tulips.

The ballroom over looking the lake was a beautiful setting for the Flemish like floral arrangements. Coral peonies, open roses, parrot and French tulips burst out of the top of elegant glass vases. Gold Mercury glass and open rose heads were clustered around the base of the centerpiece.

The sweetheart table was festooned with a meandering garland of  peonies, roses and re-flexed tulips.

The beautiful monogrammed cake was made by Vanilla Bake Shop.
