Morgan and Boris at the SONY Studios Back Lot

We recently created florals for this great couples wedding.

It was so fun to return to Sony Studios after working on the studios Christmas decorations and creating flowers for a number of films on the lot. This, was my first wedding on the back lot.

Morgan carried an all white bouquet of Phalaenopsis orchids, Cymbidium orchids, Stephanotis, and China Mums.

The bridesmaids carried nosegays of dahlias, lime green Cymbidium Orchids, lime green Fuji Mums, fuchsia Mokara Orchids and fuchsia Gomphrena.

I knew the very talented Susan Bordelon would have so much fun photographing our bride and groom with all the background scenery on the  lot. So many films and TV programs have been shot here over the years.

Before the ceremony, The bridr and groom had time for a few nostalgic portraits. This one was taken down Cannery Row.

How is this for classic Hollywood glamor? The portrait was taken in front of the Cary Grant Theater!

This simple linen and organza fabric Chuppah had a black bamboo frame. Floral tie backs gathered the organza for this summery Chuppah with sprays of white Phalaenopsis Orchids cascading from the top.

While guests enjoyed the cocktail hour on Main Street, we re-set the space for dinner and dancing for 400 guests in one hour.

We loved the surprise of using fuchsia color for the reception.

Mossy looking collars on the vases were made with Green Ball Dianthus.

Circling the bases were dahlias, roses and sweet peas.

It was a fun evening of high energy dancing in a magical outdoor setting.

It was also my first time working with the very capable and lovely Kelly Demaray of  Demaray Events.

B’Nai Mitzvah at Temple Judea

Twice as fun, this B’nai mitzvah was a riot of color.

A turquoise, orange, purple and white color scheme contrasted with the neutral interior of the social hall.

Seating was designated by escort cards featuring the brother and sister.

Inside the hall, we created two different styles of centerpieces. Tall vases of tropical Heliconias and orchids, filled with tinted water, soared above the table.

Lime green Kermit mums formed a floral collar to support the kids logo.

The second style of centerpiece had purple Vanda Orchids wired to six foot tall Lucite rods arching over head.

The kids logo was embossed on the custom designed white dance floor to recall the invitation.

Favorite candies in the party colors were featured at the candy bar buffet.

” The Sweet Life” , printed on the Candy favor bags, says it all for this terrific family.

Linda and Sean at Saddlerock Ranch Malibu

Linda and Sean are self-proclaimed “foodies”. They wanted to create a farmers market feeling after seeing produce markets on their many travels.

So we created an escort card table where the place cards were apples.

They encouraged guests to visit the resident horses and feed them the apple.  Not to worry, the calligrapher used edible ink.

We decorated the ranches rustic trunk gazebo with cream tapestry fabric and garlands of rosemary and fresh bay leaf.  Clusters of Granny Smith Apples and butterscotch roses cascaded around the garlands. Burlap covered planter boxes lined the aisle filled with jasmines, lavender and apples.

Old heirloom bibles from the family were placed on the table under the Chuppah.

The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of blush peonies and cream roses with fresh herbs and scented-leaf geraniums.

The bride looked so beautiful with the vibrant green backdrop of the garden.

We used  round and long wooden tables with green moss table runners. Displays of fruits and vegetables surrounded rustic lanterns.   little bundles of flowers, were  displayed in ceramic containers in market style. Generous platters of side dishes were served family style in the center of the table for this rustic elegant wedding

The sweetheart table was filled with an abundant display of fruits and vegetables with a fresh bay leaf garland.

The menu was printed on chipboard and had the couples silhouette logo on the bottom.
