The Wisteria orchid arch made a great backdrop for the ceremony surrounded by private yachts.

Susan and Joe’s Midsummer Night’s Dream Wedding

We were so thrilled and honored to be asked by Susan Bordelon, Wedding photographer extraordinaire, to do her own wedding flowers.

We have always loved working with Susan on weddings professionally.  She has a great personality, a keen eye and makes great photography seem so easy.  Her wedding was no exception.

We were interested to see what Susan’s vision would be for her own wedding, having photographed hundreds of weddings for her clients.

Susan knew exactly what she wanted to carry simple and fabulous. She  requested a bouquet of all Lily of the Valley. It has been years since I have done a bouquet like this. It really was special.  The fragrance of this flower is clean, sweet and delightful.  We made a magnolia leaf collar and tied the bouquet with silk cording.

The groom’s boutonniere was made of Blushing Bride Protea, Magnolia Foliage and peach Hypericum Berry wrapped in bleached hemp twine.

Her daughter, The maid of honor, carried pink peonies, pink spray roses and peach Hypericum Berries.

The magical ceremony took place under a beautiful large oak tree by a stream .  The simple garden arch was decorated with blooming honeysuckle, magnolia, tree of heaven and German statice.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a beautifully styled cocktail area using Susan’s personal collection of furniture.

After cocktails, guests were led up to the house where long wooden tables were decorated with collections of Susan’s blue vintage glass bottles.

The bottles were filled with coral peonies,David Austin Juliet  garden roses, Green Mist Queen’s Anne lace, Free Spirit roses, Dusty Miller, and variegated Hosta leaves.

The coffee-antiqued menu cards were folded into the napkins with a lavender and Stephanotis floral cluster tied with twine.

The cake was placed on top of the bride’s vintage suitcases, surrounded by hundreds of Stephanotis and Cafe au Lait Dahlias.

We had so much fun creating this environment for one of our favorite friends and wish Susan and Joe all the happiness in the world.

Erica and Nick at the Four Seasons Westlake

We recently created flowers for this great couples wedding.  You would never have know that it was a record breaking 110 degrees outside!

The bride carried white peonies, David Austin ‘Patience’ garden roses and Calcynia heather. We created a collar of  satin loops and tied it together with silk cording.

The groom wore a white Dendrobium orchid and Calcynia heather boutonniere.

The bridesmaids wore beautiful soft pink colored dresses.

The bridesmaids carried Titanic and Geraldine pink roses with accents of green poppy pods and variegated Pittosporum.

The boys carried the bride’s sign down the aisle followed by four flowers girls.

Two of the flowergirls carried fairy wands and the other two carried birch bark decorated baskets.

The aisle leading up to the wedding canopy was strewn with rose petals in an pale pink ombre design.

The gorgeous rose and orchid garden Chuppah supported  Strands of orchids and crystal garlands, creating a magical backdrop for this beautiful couple.

The escort card table had a trio of mercury glass flute vases  filled with Cafe au Lait Dahlias and pink peonies.

This birch bark centerpiece was one of three unique centerpiece styles.

The cake was an important focal point behind the sweetheart table. The cascading flowers greeted guests as they walked into the ballroom.

Then most unexpectedly, when the bride went to toss her bouquet….

she walked over and made sure that her sister would “catch” it.

This was the perfectly planned timing for her sister’s boyfriend to propose to her.   What a surprise.

We were so happy to create this beautiful wedding and get to know this great family.

Stacy Porras coordinated this beautiful wedding and it was great working  together again.
