Jackie and Eric at the Athenaeum

When the parents of the bride send you a note the following morning saying that it was the perfect wedding! Exactly what they had envisioned. We could not be happier.

The bride carried an elegant cascade bouquet of Crystal Blush Calla lilies.

The Athenaeum at California Institute of Technology in Pasadena was modeled after The Athenaeum of London, established in 1824.

In Ancient Greece, the word Athenaeum referred to buildings dedicated to Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

Members of the London club included individuals known for their scientific or literary attainments, artists of eminence in all classes of the fine arts, and noblemen and gentlemen distinguished as liberal patrons of science, literature, or the arts.
The first formal dinner held in Pasadena included three Nobel Prize winners including Albert Einstein.
This beautiful building  was designed by famed architect, Gordon B. Kaufmann, in 1929. It is magical setting for a stylish wedding.

The beautiful Mediterranean gardens were originally designed by Florence Yoch and Lucile Council. This landscape architect couple were know for designing the estate gardens of  many of the movie studios heads of the time.  The mature Olive and Eucalyptus trees create a romantic atmosphere for this beautiful setting.

Inspired by the Great Gatsby the bride requested an all white and black themed formal wedding.

The bridesmaids wore sleek black gowns to complement their nosegay bouquets of Vendela roses and Crystal Blush miniature calla lilies

The challenge of this wedding was constructing a wedding canopy on a flight of stairs.

Full bolts of off-white fabric were swagged down the aisle tied with wide black satin ribbon and Vendela roses.

The translucent off-white linen fabric was pulled back and tied to the columns with Vendela rose tie backs accented with black satin ribbon.

After the ceremony we turned the canopy around facing the dance floor framing the sweetheart table.

During the cocktail hour, guests were asked to fill out a vintage post card with well wishes for the couple and post it in the personalized mail box.

After cocktails, guests were led into the courtyard which was transformed by romantic candlelight and a beautifully draped fabric tent.

Dramatic long tables surrounded the perimeter of the ballroom

Our Art Deco inspired crystal candelabras were used for the first time on this party and set the perfect tone for the Great Gatsby inspiration. Around the base, crystal wrapped black glass bubble bowls were filled with Vendela roses, Crystal Blush calla lilies and Phalaenopsis orchids.

The black and white Damask napkins were wrapped in a crystal band folded with a pocket for the menu.

The beautiful Art Deco cake created by Fantasy Frostings, was accented with fresh Phalaenopsis orchids

We wish this stylish couple a lifetime of happiness.
