Film Opens Tomorrow – The Wedding Ringer, with Kevin Hart

We are so excited to see our work, this week, on the film, ‘The Wedding Ringer’.

It stars Kevin Hart, People Magazine’s Comedy Star of The Year Award winner, with Josh Gad and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.

Doug Harris (Josh Gad) is a loveable but socially awkward groom-to-be with a problem: he has no best man. With less than two weeks to go until he marries the girl of his dreams (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), Doug is referred to Jimmy Callahan (Kevin Hart), owner and CEO of Best Man, Inc., a company that provides flattering best men for socially challenged guys in need. What ensues is a hilarious wedding charade as they try to pull off the big con, and an unexpected budding bromance between Doug and his fake best man Jimmy.

After viewing the trailer, we tried to match up some of the scenes to our photos. We can’t wait to see how our flowers support the funny story.

When you make a film, you might not shoot it in chronological order.  Sometimes they film reception scenes before ceremony scenes depending on the shooting schedule

This is the start of a scene with Kevin Hart and Josh Gad seated in front of our flowers.

We used Vendela and Cherry Brandy roses, and golden James Story orchids.

This is a  typical 7 am call setting up this scene. On the stage large bandstand florals act as a backdrop for this following dance segment.

This scene was filmed in the Marina Vista Ballroom at the Ritz Carlton, in Marina del Rey.

The rehearsal dinner was filmed in the Bernardo Room at The Millennium Biltmore Hotel, downtown Los Angeles.

This wedding was filmed on top of the Hollywood Athletic Club. Providing a city view of downtown L.A.

While waiting for a scene to take a break, we can’t help looking over the rows of director’s chairs to view the monitors.

The ballroom wedding reception scene was filmed in  the beautiful Crystal Ballroom at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Some of the florals were both fresh and silk flowers as it was being filmed for a series of days.

Here is a shot of  Kevin Hart in front of our blooming planter boxes and large spray florals.

The wedding ceremony scene was filmed in the beautiful Hollywood United Methodist Church.

Here is a funny scene, outside the church with grandmother, Cloris Leachman.

I want to thank everyone working on this job. It was a pleasure.

Tessa Legato & Scott Chacon’s Gracious Pasadena Home Reception

We really enjoyed working with this bride and her wonderful Pasadena family.

Tessa and Scott were married at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Old-Town Pasadena.  Tessa was not afraid of color and had a truly showstopping bouquet.

The bride’s bouquet of ‘Cafe au Lait’ Dahlias, ‘Juliet’ David Austin Roses, seeded Eucalyptus, green millet, blackberries on the stem with a collar of Magnolia leaves.

The gentlemen were assembled,  on their way to the church,at the Langhan Huntington Hotel.

The ladies wore vibrant coral colored dresses with pale flowers to contrast Tessa’s vibrant bouquet

The bridesmaid’s bouquets were composed of a collar of dusty miller surrounding Vendela, Geraldine, and Fiesta roses, Majolica Spray roses, seeded Eucalyptus and Echeveria ‘Lola’ succulents. The bouquets also featured a very special locally grown form of  Lavender pink Fuji mum.

The church’s European architecture provided a magical fantasy setting.

A shower of rose petals greeted the bride and groom as they left the church.

After the ceremony, guests moved over to the family home a short drive away to enjoy a warm and wonderful evening under the stars.

The plantation-style portico’s  front door was festooned with floral garlands. Drifts of rose petals lined the steps leading guests through the gracious home to the pool for appetizers and cocktails.

The cake was decorated with candy rose petals in pale blush and ivory shades by Leslie at Fantasy Frostings.

Long Cielo Blanco Tables were placed on the lawn and filled with vases of coral and melon colored dinner-plate dahlias, garden roses and other summer flowers.

Apricots, Gala apples and clusters of shimmering mercury glass votives were scattered down the centers of the tables.

In front of the dance floor, the Antique-style sweetheart table was adorned with a hand made Southern Magnolia garland.

The thrilling surprise of the evening, the father of the bride announced that American Standards Crooner,Steve Tyrell was to sing for the  the father-daughter/mother-son dance.

Dinner was enjoyed under the warm glow of the Fellini string lights and pale pink lanterns.

The couple danced while the guests help fiery sparklers in a salute to this new couple.

What a magical evening for this terrific couple.  We wish them and their families much happiness.
