Karin and Hart’s Wedding at Saddlerock Ranch Malibu

We love weddings at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu.

We have created beautiful wedding flowers for all three daughters of this family.

All three sisters had distinctive ideas regarding their wedding decor.

Bridal Bouquet

Our bride carried a beautiful bouquet of  Vendela, Crème de la Crème and David Austin Patience Garden Roses with accents of Lemon Vision Spray Roses, lite blue hydrangea, dusty miller and Stephanotis.

Her beautiful bridesmaids carried bouquets of blue hydrangea, Vendela roses and Dusty Miller.

The adorable flower girls wore wreaths of seeded Eucalyptus and carried birch bark moss lined baskets.

For Karin and Hart’s ceremony, we decided to to site the ceremony facing the oak grove.

Herb filled French galvanized flower buckets and vintage iron garden lanterns were grouped down the aisle.

ceremony area

The wedding canopy was created using pale blue shades of Hydrangea, lime green hanging Amaranthus, Southern Magnolia, dusty miller, Crème de la Crème, Message and Vendela roses.

I love this family tradition, every couple has their name sewn into the bridal canopy.

A hand lettered sign and steamer trunk filled with jasmine and herbs led guests to the ceremony.

Framed wedding photos were displayed of the many generations of family members.

Three different styles of centerpieces were used, featuring green grapes and birch bark containers.

The long tables had our tall vintage candlesticks and striped table runners.

We surrounded the monogrammed cake with a magnolia garland.

We are so happy for this wonderful couple and glad they thought to take a evening photo under the canopy.

Wedding for Taryn & Matt at Geoffrey’s in Malibu

We recently created florals for this beautiful intimate wedding at Geoffrey’s in Malibu.

It’s not often a restaurant like Geoffrey’s allows a buyout for a special event.

While we were setting up the flowers, we overheard the hostess informing a number of  “A-listers”  that they were closed for the evening.

The light and breezy canopy overlooked the ocean creating a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. We designed a brown bamboo structure draped in natural gauzy fabric. Plumeria flown in from Hawaii, orchids and smilax were loosely draped over the frame.

After the ceremony, guests moved to the veranda for cocktails. Geoffrey’s cocktail tables are all designed to look like custom surfboards.

In heavy glass sham vases we arranged ranunculus, scented geraniums, Iceburg roses and herbs.

Each dining table table had a different variation of the centerpiece.

We used combinations of bleached driftwood, rustic carved wood bowls, clusters of green grapes, mercury and bubble glass votives,  pearlized sea shells, open cream roses, succulents, herbs and gardenias.

The place card was tied with twine to a sprig of rosemary and a single Plumeria, or also known as  Frangapani.

The table under the canopy for the ceremony became the sweetheart table.

As the sun set the restaurant became a magical glow of candlelight and music.

Bridesmaids 25ans Magazine Japan

Two lovely photos of our beautiful brides and their bridesmaids have been selected by luxury wedding magazine, 25ans Magazine,  seen by brides all over Asia.

After attending the seminar and summer night gala that we produced in Tokyo, our friends at the magazine told us they were working on a bridesmaids article and asked if I had any photos I could share with them.

Bridal parties and specifically bridesmaids are a relatively new idea for the Japanese.

In this part of the article they were discussing selecting dresses for the bridesmaids.

They selected our bride, Melina and her bridesmaids on the carousel at Saddlerock ranch in Malibu.

This photo was captured by Susan Bordelon Photography.  Susan is fantastic to work with and really knows how to get the most wonderful images from a venue.

Here they were talking about the responsibilities of being a bridesmaid.

The second image they selected was our bride Tamara and her bridesmaids at the Hotel Bel Air which was photographed by Next Exit Photography.

Cat and Adi did such a beautiful job on this wedding.

We look forward to sharing many more exciting and memorable ideas with our Japanese friends in the future.

Zen-Chic wedding Chelsea and Mark at Calamigos Ranch

We recently created a unique environment for a wedding at Calamigos ranch in their newly remodeled room.

The bride, a Yoga instructor, wanted a totally different vibe from her sister’s wedding at Hotel Bel Air. She wanted something organic and spiritual relating to who she is as a person. This family was totally involved in the decision and creative process.

The bride carried white peonies, lime green Cymbidium orchids, Swarovski crystal filled Stephanotis and a fresh millet spray accent.

The chuppah was draped with hundreds of Golden James Story orchids and lime green Cymbidium orchids tied to golden curly willow.  We then clustered lanterns in the structure.
The Mandala-like aisle runner was created with designs inspired by Indian bridal henna or Mehndi designs.

After cocktails, the guests entered a magical golden bamboo forest topping the tables with hanging glass teardrop votives and cascading orchid stems climbing up the Seven foot tall trellises.

If you click on the images you can see them full screen.

Surrounding the base were copper and gold mercury glass votives with Café au Lait Dinner Plate Dahlias and open Juliet Garden roses.

Each napkin was tied with gold silk cording and a cymbidium orchid with bamboo accent.

The custom designed bamboo and orchid trimmed cake was featured next to the metallic copper dance floor,

Kimery Sherwood of Kimery Events worked unceasingly to ensure that our client received a beautiful and unique wedding full of personality.

There were so many beautiful details. Congratulations and best wishes.
